The holidays are here and so is the cold weather. We're here with ideas for keeping busy this Winter with the family in Jersey City.

Jingle bells are ringing, trees are lit, but with the holiday spirit comes the cold air and let’s face it… little kid cabin fever!  Playground days are limited, outdoor walks are shorter, but you want to ensure your little one is entertained.  We’re here to help! We pulled together a list of great Winter activities to do with you kids this season in the area:

Ice Skating: Who says you have to stay inside? Take advantage of the fun rink at Newport Skates and give it a whirl.  Private lessons are available too.

Rock Climbing: For the slightly bigger kids, starting at age 5, you can enjoy Hoboken’s new Gravity Vault indoor rock climbing center. What a fun and cool way to spend a few hours and get that energy out.

Indoor Play: Whether it’s HudsonPLAY, Funzy Play, or Little City Play, there are plenty of places to PLAY indoors this season.  All the local venues offer free play opportunities and birthday party options too.   

Get Cooking: It’s never too early to get comfortable in the kitchen. Bambino Chef offers a host of classes and workshops for kids as young as 3 years old. Check out holiday special events like the upcoming Ginger Bread House Decorating workshop.

Arts & Crafts: Tiny Greenhouse is a great indoor spot to let your child’s inner artist come to life. Whether in a formal class setting or free time, creativity is always abounds here.

Teach DIY: With the help of the Jersey City Home Depot, you and your kids can enjoy a variety of free, hands on, weekend workshops that encourage learning, creativity, and team work.
